The airsoft guns that operate with the help of electric power are called Electric Airsoft Guns.The different types of electric guns are:
Automatic Electric Guns
These airsoft guns utilize a rechargeable battery to run an electric motor. This motor, in turn, rotates an internal assembly of spring or piston to propel pellets or balls.
These are the most widely used and commonly available airsoft guns. These AEGs were created in Japan.
Hybrid Guns
Hybrid guns were launched in the summer of 2006. They have some additional features apart from the standard AEG characteristics. The hybrid guns have a magazine packed with shell castings. Each casting contains one plastic pellet. With the firing of every pellet, a shell casting is discharged. The small red cap of the casting is fired, creating a sound and smoke impact. The full blowback and the round-per-shell features impart a real-life look to the operation of hybrid guns.
Low powered Electric Guns
As the name signifies, these are less powerful than the original Automatic Electric Guns. But, their design and operation are similar to those of the AEGs.
Medium powered Electric Guns
Some improved versions of medium powered electric guns are very effective and at the same time available at reasonable prices. Companies like UTG have popular medium powered models like AK-47 and MP5.
Electric Blow Backs
Electric Blow Backs are also known as EBBs. These are designed to resemble the real pistols. These are cheap electric airsoft guns and operate with the help of AA batteries or AAA batteries.
